# Koinori: sound Japanese, not just read it

Most apps teach you to recognise words. Koinori teaches you to *say* them, with real-time
pitch-accent feedback no other app gives you. Read graded stories, mine sentences in a tap, and watch
your koi leap the Dragon Gate as your Japanese matures.

Koinori is an iOS app from Frazzled Productions. It is in development, and this page takes waitlist
signups.

The difference: see and correct your pitch-accent in real time. Perception drills, a live contour you
can match against native speakers, and scored practice on words and short phrases. The thing every
other app skips.

## A pond of koi that become dragons

Each koi is a part of your Japanese: kana, kanji, listening, pitch. As a koi truly matures it leaps
the Dragon Gate and becomes a dragon in your garden. Progress you earn through real competence, never
points for showing up.

## Joining the waitlist

The signup form on this page takes an email address and an explicit consent tick. We send a
confirmation link first (double opt-in), so you are only on the list once you click it, and every
email carries a one-click unsubscribe. What we store and why is set out at [/privacy.md](/privacy.md).

The page also carries an optional questionnaire about what you want from a language app. It is
answered anonymously by default; you only give an email there if you tick the box asking us to follow
up.
